1. Apply 2 lines of silicone to front and rear edge of the window frame. 6. Temporarily support the ridge into position by attaching bars at opposite ends of the ridge (do not tighten the bolts). Check that the correct numbered bar is used, relevant to its position on your roof plan.
2. Lay the first length of eaves beam, ensuring the internal lip is flush to the internal frame. You will need to notch the external lip around any window coupling profiles. 7. Continue to fix the remaining bars to the ridge and eaves beam loosely attaching the nuts & bolts. Firstly attaching the radius end adaptors to the arrow headed bars before connecting to the radius end.
3. Fix the appropriate fixing cleat in the pre-drilled holes using the screws supplied. 8. Using expanding anchor bolts (ie. 8 x 100mm Fischer Bolts), fix the end rafters back to the existing wall. The first bolt to be placed within 150mm of the ridge and in 500mm increments thereafter.
4. Push the frame to eaves fixing lever to fasten the eaves beam to the Shield outer frame. Alternatively, screw up through the outer frame into eaves beam. 9. Checking that the ridge is level, tighten all the bolts that strike the ridge first, then tighten the bolts on the radius end checking the ridge is still level. Now ensure that all the bolts are fully tightened.
5. With the eaves beam now secured to the frames; make sure both the external eaves cladding and glazing support sections are clipped on.
